Het is weer tijd voor een ZED in de Aula! Dat is elke maand één van de grootste filmsensaties van de voorbije periode op groot scherm in Aula Vesalius. De ruimte wordt voor de gelegenheid sfeervol aangekleed en krijgt technisch een flinke upgrade. Een niet-te-missen filmevent helemaal op studentenmaat en -budget!
Dit jaar gaan alle ZED in de Aula's door in samenwerking met KU Leuven Cultuur. Ze zijn dus helemaal GRATIS voor houders van een Cultuurkaart. Met de ZED-studentenkaart betaal je ook slechts €4.

Twee broers, de 26-jarige Tarek en de 12-jarige Fouad, proberen samen hun weg te vinden en een leven op te bouwen in hun thuisstad Brussel. Wanneer Tarek de kans krijgt om zijn ultieme sportdroom te gaan waarmaken in de Verenigde Staten, neemt zijn leven en dat van zijn jongere broer een nieuwe en onverwachte wending. Terwijl beide broers moeten wennen aan de nieuwe realiteit, blijft Fouad worstelen met de druk van zijn omgeving.
It's time for another ZED in the Aula! That's one of the biggest film sensations of the passed months projected in Aula Vesalius. The auditorium will be retransformed for the occasion. A not-to-be-missed filmevent entirely customised to students and their budget!
This year, all ZED in the Aulas will take place in collaboration with KU Leuven Culture. They are therefore completely FREE for holders of a Culture Card. With the ZED-Studentcard, you also pay only €4.

When Tarek gets the chance to pursue his ultimate sports dream in the United States, his life and that of his younger brother takes a new and unexpected turn. While both brothers must get used to the new reality, Fouad continues to struggle with the pressures of his surroundings.

Ish Ait Hamou stond in 2018 nog op Kortfilmfestival Leuven met zijn kortfilm Klem, nu komt zijn langverwachte langspeeldebuut in de zalen. Een film die hij maakte samen met zijn broer Monir over hun geliefde stad Brussel, waarin ze voor eens en altijd bewijzen dat Brussel een stad met een ziel is, en géén hellhole. Een eerlijk en intiem portret van twee jongeren die hun weg proberen te vinden in moeilijke omstandigheden en een genuanceerd beeld van een hoofdstad die haar imago niet mee heeft, met al haar valkuilen en charmes. BXL won de publieksprijs op het Filmfestival Gent.
