In samenwerking met:
La Historia Oficial kwam slechts twee jaar na het einde van de Argentijnse dictatuur in de zalen. De film durfde als eerste moedig het collectief trauma onder handen nemen alsook de – reeds lang vermoede – kidnapping van kinderen van “subversieve” ouders aan de kaak te stellen. De film won dan ook terecht de Oscar voor Beste Buitenlandse Film.
